DNA methylation is a fundamental epigenetic modification with important roles in gene regulation and expression. In an article published by Loyfer et al. [1] the authors cataloged the methylation patterns of dozens of cell-types sorted from 205 normal human tissue samples developing a comprehensive atlas of DNA. The researchers developed this comprehensive atlas via whole genome bisulfite sequencing on libraries prepared using IDT’s xGen™ Methyl-Seq DNA Library Prep Kit.
