Psomagen Added to IDT Align Program

Jun 15, 2021
One of the leading providers of genomic services becomes part of IDT’s program to increase accessibility of solutions to researchers
CORALVILLE, Iowa (June 15, 2021) — Integrated DNA Technologies, Inc. (IDT), a leader in comprehensive genomics research solutions, welcomes Psomagen, Inc., a United States-based genetic sequencing and data analysis service provider, to the IDT Align Program, further expanding the program’s roster of preferred sequencing partners.

The IDT Align Program assists researchers by expanding access to services and solutions that help move genomic projects forward. IDT is partnering with quality service providers to make NGS tools and resources more accessible, especially for scientists who need sequencing services tailored to their projects.

Psomagen specializes in customized genome services with an emphasis on early adoption of emerging technologies. Precise analysis of transcriptomes and genomes enables Psomagen to identify the role of genes, environments, and lifestyles. The generation of these insights can assist researchers investigating disease and inform public health surveillance where appropriate.

To expand their role in public health surveillance, Psomagen has partnered recently with Swift Biosciences (now a part of IDT), to offer comprehensive SARS-CoV-2 variant determination using next generation sequencing (NGS).

“IDT welcomes Psomagen to the Align Program, another great addition to a program designed to offer key resources to NGS researchers,” said IDT President Trey Martin. “Psomagen is performing important work in surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 variant detection, bolstered by the implementation of xGen™ SARS-CoV-2 Amplicon Panel (formerly Swift SNAP-SARS Panel) into their workflow, and IDT aims to make these products and services more accessible to further combat the pandemic.”

“We are excited to work with IDT to bring sequencing-based applications to the forefront,” said Ryan Kim, Chief Executive Officer at Psomagen. “Not only to help address immediate needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic, but also, to facilitate important work in other areas such as cancer and rare disease research.”

IDT is a leader in DNA writing, and the company is also delivering innovative and high-performing NGS products to enable research and discoveries. xGen NGS solutions from IDT feature high reproducibility, customization, and scalability that break down barriers for scientists and enhance confidence in their results.

Psomagen offers researchers a wide array of sequencing services for many applications and species through its modern, fully equipped labs. Psomagen has extended its genetic technology services to scientists in North America for more than 15 years.
